PERMIT RENEWALS
Initial permits are valid for TWO years. An eight hour course is required for renewal. Every subscquent permit renewal is valid for THREE years. Renewal permits require classroom instruction and range certification. We use this day to teach advanced shooting techniques to our existing and skilled new clients.
PRIVATE INSTRUCTION FOR NEW & EXPERIENCED SHOOTERS
Many requests for Private Lessons now come from people who already have their Wear & Carry Permits. They are finding that those 16 hours they spent with 100 of their closest friends in a drafty room has left them uncertain about which gun to purchase, how to conceal it or even how to load it. When our clients leave us they've shot several different guns in different calibers using both hands of course, but they also can shoot just as well with either hand independently. They're safe and they know what they 're doing.
Private Lessons are structured to meet the needs of our client. While the vast majority of Private Lessons are pistol related, we deliver the same expertise in teaching our shotgun and rifle clients as well. So, whether it's a home defense class or intermediate to advanced instruction to take what you know to another level, we can provide that training.
In addition to CONTINENTAL ARMS in Timonium, we can offer our services daily, including evenings at GUNTRY in Owings Mills.
BASIC HANDGUN HQL COURSE FOR BEGINNERS
We are now experiencing a significant uptick in inquiries regarding Maryland's Concealed Carry Wear Permit. and many new CCW holders will need to purchase the gun they will carry, often their first handgun.
Accordingly, for those that need them, we will certify our Concealed Carry Wear Permit clients for their HQL certification simultaneously with the CCW courses we teach. This will save them the additional cost and time required to take a separate class.
Of course, we shall continue to offer stand alone HQL classes for those who only wish to obtain a handgun for home protection.
