The Glock Generation 6 Models 17,19 and 45 will officially be available for sale July 26 in Maryland, and they will sell FAST because Maryland's stop on all Glock sales will begin on 1/1/2027. After that date, you will be unable to purchase or sell any Glock. Any you own will be "grandfathered" in and still be legal to possess. But, buying , selling, transferring or importing from another State will be banned to Maryland residents. Some gun stores and ranges have Gen 5 Glocks in stock now. Check around for remaining Glock Gen 4 and Gen 5, especially the Glock 43X and Glock 48 models.
Glocks Gen 1 thru Gen 5 and all their clones will disappear from gun stores across the State on New Year's Eve. Gen 6 guns have been passed by the Maryland Handgun Roster Board for sale through the end of the year. Like semi-automatic pistol magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds can't be bought, sold or shipped into Maryland, Glocks already owned will be unaffected. We are not alone, three other States will have similar laws on the books by January, 2027. These new laws are being challenged in Federal Court in New York, Connecticut, California and here in Maryland. Maryland's Governor has already signed this bill into law . Bottom line, if you're considering buying a Glock--any Glock--I suggest you do it while a few gun stores still have inventory.
