HQL & private instruction
Our HQL class size is limited to a MAXIMUM of FIVE students.
With the recent Supreme Court ruling regarding New York and Governor Hogan's decision to bring Maryland in line with the High Court's ruling, we are experiencing a significant uptick in inquiries regarding Maryland's Concealed Carry Permit. and a decrease in those regarding the HQL. However, many new CCP holders will need to purchase the gun they will carry and quite possibly the first gun they will ever own.
Accordingly, for those that need them, we will certify our Concealed Carry Permit clients for their HQL certification simuaneously with the CCP courses we teach. This will save them the additional cost and inconvenience of obtaining a second set of fingerprints as they can use this one for both. It will also spare them the additional four hour HQL class, Course fee and additional range costs.
We shall continue to offer HQL classes, but availability will be curtailed somewhat for the time being.
private lessons

Our weekly schedule still includes Private Lessons. While most are pistol related, we often work with students on rifles or shotguns as well. Sometimes it's a session devoted to disassembly, cleaning and function checking. People who have taken inadequate HQL training elsewhere often find their way to our office to fill in the gaps in knowledge that still make them hesitant to pick up a handgun, much less shoot one. It's not unusual to learn they were never taught to load a magazine. Considering the number of customers we hear are being jammed into most local CCP classes, we're expecting a significant increase in demand for our private lessons.
