DFC offers PRIVATE INSTRUCTION, to our clients who wish to keep a shotgun as their primary weapon for home defense. We've successfully taught these skills to security professionals and candidates in Federal and State law enforcement academies for more than a decade. We find, however that there are a number of misconceptions surrounding the use of shotguns. With few exceptions, they're no easier to use than handguns. If you aren't properly taught to shoot them, they can be difficult to manipulate, and uncomfortable to shoot.

If you simply want protection and haven't the time or interest to devote to learning the gun inside out, then PLEASE buy something intuitive and simple to operate in the dark and under stress. Illustrated to the right is a .410 Gauge, single shot Winchester Model 37 from the 1950's. It delivers negligible recoil when fired from shoulder or hip with eight additional shells close at hand. DFC now offers PRIVATE INSTRUCTION on pistol-caliber carbines for personal and home defense. We believe they provide a credible alternative to a shotgun, particularly for women. Pistol caliber carbines can be chambered in 9mm., .40 S&W or .45 ACP. Our choice of caliber is the 9mm. It's accurate with little recoil and often easier to shoot than most handguns. They can be outfitted with attached conventional optical sights, red dot sights or flashlights. Some PCCs are configured to operate on an AR platform like Colt and CMMG.
